Since 2017, our Founder & CEO Vijay Shekhar Sharma has served as the United Nations Environment Programme’s (UNEP) Patron for Clean Air, supporting the global #BreatheLife campaign aimed at improving air quality and public health. His advocacy for environmental responsibility is further reinforced by his role on the Advisory Board of the Green Digital Finance Alliance, where he contributes to aligning fintech solutions with the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
By promoting digital transactions and paperless receipts, Paytm continues to help reduce air pollution and environmental waste while making financial systems more efficient and eco-friendly.
Championing Financial Literacy and Economic Empowerment
With our CSR arm Paytm Foundation, we launched the Financial Literacy Programme with a mission to empower women through practical financial education. This initiative bridges the financial knowledge gap and equips women with essential skills to manage budgets, plan savings, and make informed financial decisions—laying the groundwork for long-term independence.
We have reached over 1,000 women across India with high-impact, one-hour sessions supported by non-profit partners and dedicated Paytmers who volunteered their time and financial expertise. A custom-designed course for women was created, and Paytmers actively led training sessions, sharing actionable advice and real-world strategies to manage finances effectively.
Our volunteers facilitated workshops, managed logistics, and provided hands-on mentorship. They offered personalized guidance and addressed individual queries, ensuring an engaging and supportive learning experience.
The recognition motivates us to keep going—expanding our mission, promoting financial literacy among underprivileged women, and continuing to build inclusive, empowered communities through education and digital transformation.
