Linking your bank account to UPI on Paytm allows you to make instant payments directly from your bank account. Once linked, you can send money, scan QR codes, pay bills, and receive payments. Along with bank accounts, you can also use eligible RuPay Credit Cards on UPI through Paytm to make payments just like regular UPI payments using your credit card.

UPI (Unified Payments Interface) is a digital payment service that allows you to send and receive money directly from your linked bank account. It enables instant payments using your UPI ID, mobile number, bank account details, or QR codes without sharing sensitive banking information. You can also use UPI on Paytm for bill payments, recharges, and everyday transactions.

Steps to Link Your Bank Account to Paytm

  1. Open the Paytm App on your smartphone.
  2. Tap on your profile icon at the top-left corner.
  3. Select 'UPI & Payment Settings'.
  4. Tap on 'Link Bank Account' or 'Add Bank Account'.
  5. Select your bank from the available list.
  6. Ensure that the mobile number linked with your bank account is active on your phone for verification.
  7. Paytm will send an SMS to verify your mobile number with the bank. Once verified, your bank account details will be fetched automatically.
  8. If you are linking the bank account for the first time, set your UPI PIN using your debit card details.

Your bank account is now linked to UPI on Paytm, and you can start making UPI payments.

Note: If you already have a UPI PIN for the same bank account created through another UPI app, you can use the same PIN on Paytm.

How to Use a RuPay Credit Card on UPI?

RuPay Credit Card on UPI allows you to link your eligible RuPay credit card with UPI on Paytm and make payments by scanning QR codes or using UPI. Instead of using your bank account balance, the payment amount is charged to your linked credit card limit. It offers the convenience of UPI payments with the benefits of using a credit card.

Can I Add Multiple Bank Accounts on UPI on Paytm?

Yes, you can link multiple bank accounts to UPI on Paytm and use them for different transactions. Each linked bank account will have its own UPI ID, and you can choose which account to use while making payments.

To add another bank account:

  1. Open the Paytm App and go to 'UPI & Payment Settings'.
  2. Tap on 'Add Bank Account'.
  3. Select your bank from the available list.
  4. Verify your mobile number linked with the bank account.
  5. Set your UPI PIN if required to complete the setup.

Once added, you can view and manage all linked bank accounts from the UPI settings and select your preferred account while making payments.

Bank Account Not Showing on Paytm?

If your bank account is not appearing in the list, check that:

  • Your mobile number registered with the bank is active on your phone.
  • SMS permissions are enabled for Paytm.
  • Your bank supports UPI services.
  • Try again after some time if the bank services are temporarily unavailable.
