What is UPI verification?

UPI verification is a security process mandated by NPCI to authenticate a user's identity and link their bank account to a UPI application. It primarily involves device binding, where the app sends a secure SMS from the user's registered mobile number to verify that the SIM card matches bank records. Additionally, when sending money, verification allows users to confirm the recipient's registered name before finalizing a transaction.
