What are the UPI charges from 1st April?

Starting April 1, 2023, merchant UPI transactions exceeding ₹2,000 that use Prepaid Payment Instruments (PPI Wallets) attract an interchange charge of 1.1%. The National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) introduced this fee, but it does not apply to customers or regular bank-to-bank UPI transfers between individuals. The purpose is to cover transaction costs for banking infrastructure maintenance.
