Is UPI linked to my bank account?

UPI allows for direct funds transfer between two banks through a mobile app. However, your bank account must first be linked to a UPI-enabled application for you to use it for transactions. For example, to link your bank account using the Paytm app, you go to "UPI & Payment Settings," tap "Link Bank Account," select your bank, verify your mobile number, and set a UPI PIN. This process connects your bank account to UPI for payments.
