How much UPI transaction is tax free?

Personal transfers made via UPI, such as those to or from family and friends, are generally tax-free. For transactions considered gifts, amounts up to ₹50,000 received in a financial year from non-relatives are exempt from tax. Any amount exceeding this limit must be reported and may be subject to tax under the Income Tax Act.
