How much time does an UPI refund take?

According to the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), if a UPI transaction fails but the amount is debited from your account, the funds should be credited back within 48 hours (T+1 day) for automatic reversal. In general, some sources suggest UPI refunds are processed within 3–5 working days. If the reversal does not happen, you should raise a complaint via your UPI application or contact your bank.
