Has RBI increased the UPI limit?

Yes, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has approved increases to UPI transaction limits. The RBI increased the per-transaction limit for UPI Lite from ₹500 to ₹1,000 and the total wallet capacity from ₹2,000 to ₹5,000. Additionally, the RBI permits the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) to raise limits for Person-to-Merchant (P2M) transactions. Limits for categories like capital markets and insurance have been increased up to ₹5 lakh per transaction.
