You can apply to change your name on your PAN card both online and offline through the official Protean (formerly NSDL) or UTIITSL portals.

• For online application, select 'Changes or Correction in existing PAN Data,' fill the form, tick the name field for correction, and submit the required documents.
• For offline application, download the 'Request For New PAN Card Or/ And Changes Or Correction in PAN Data' form, fill it, and submit it with supporting documents (e.g., marriage certificate or Gazette Notification) at any PAN centre.

Upon approval, a new PAN card with the updated name will be issued, retaining the original PAN number.
