You can cancel your PAN card application both online and offline, primarily when surrendering a duplicate PAN.

• Online: Visit the NSDL or UTIITSL website and select the 'Changes or Correction in existing PAN Data' option. Fill out the form, mentioning the PAN to be cancelled in Item No. 11, and submit it with required documents.
• Offline: Submit the 'Request for New PAN Card or PAN Correction' form at a nearby PAN centre, listing the PAN to be cancelled in Item 11, or write a surrender request letter to your local Income Tax Assessing Officer.
