Where to sign a cheque

To sign a cheque, you need to sign in two specific places depending on your role:
  • As a Drawer: If you are issuing the cheque, sign on the front in the bottom right corner, above the printed name of the account holder. This authorizes the bank to pay the specified amount.
  • As a Payee: If you are receiving a cheque to deposit or cash, you must endorse it by signing on the back within the designated endorsement area, typically marked by lines or a box.
