To send a cancelled cheque, you must first prepare it correctly to ensure it is used only for verification and not for financial transactions. Follow these steps:
- Take a fresh, unused cheque leaf from your chequebook.
- Draw two parallel diagonal lines across the face of the cheque using dark ink.
- Write the word CANCELLED in capital letters between these two lines.
- Ensure essential details like your account number, IFSC, and name remain clearly visible.
