How to fill up cheque book

To fill up a cheque book correctly in India, follow these essential steps to ensure a secure transaction:

• Write the date in the DD/MM/YYYY format in the top right corner.
• In the Pay column, write the name of the recipient or Self.
• In the Rupees section, write the amount in words followed by Only.
• Enter the numerical amount in the box provided, using the /- symbol after it.
• Sign clearly in the space above your printed name, matching your bank records.
• To ensure funds are credited only to the recipient’s bank account, draw two parallel lines on the top left corner and write A/c Payee.
