UPI transactions are usually instant, but sometimes they can get stuck in a 'Pending' status or fail due to various reasons like network issues, bank server downtime, or incorrect details. Here's how to resolve such situations.
Step 1: Check Transaction Status
- Open the Paytm App and go to 'Balance & History' or 'Passbook'.
- Locate the transaction in question and tap on it to see its current status (Successful, Pending, or Failed).
Step 2: Wait for Auto-Resolution (If Pending)
- Most pending transactions are automatically resolved within 30 minutes to a few hours.
- The transaction will either be marked as 'Successful' (money credited to the receiver) or 'Failed' (money refunded to your account).
- Do NOT retry the transaction while it's pending, as this may result in duplicate charges.
Step 3: If Transaction Failed (Money Debited)
- If your transaction shows 'Failed' but the money was debited from your bank account, the refund is initiated automatically.
- Refund Timeline: Usually within 3-5 business days, but can vary depending on your bank.
Step 4: Raise a Complaint (If Unresolved)
If your issue is not resolved after 5 business days:
- Go to the Paytm App and navigate to '24x7 Help' section.
- Select the specific transaction and tap on 'Raise a Complaint'.
- Provide necessary details like Transaction ID, amount, and date.
- Paytm support will investigate and assist with the resolution.
