If your Paytm QR Code is not working—whether you're trying to scan and pay or receive payments—here are the common issues and their solutions.
Common Issues When Scanning QR Code
1. Camera Not Focusing
- Problem: The camera can't focus on the QR code.
- Solution: Ensure proper lighting. Clean your camera lens. Hold your phone steady at a proper distance (6-12 inches from the QR code).
2. Damaged or Blurry QR Code
- Problem: The printed QR code is faded, damaged, or too small.
- Solution: Ask the merchant for a clearer QR code or their UPI ID to pay manually.
3. App Permissions
- Problem: Paytm doesn't have camera access.
- Solution: Go to your phone's Settings > Apps > Paytm > Permissions > Enable Camera.
4. Outdated App
- Problem: Your Paytm app version is outdated.
- Solution: Update the app from Play Store or App Store.
Common Issues When Your QR Code Isn't Working for Others
1. Bank Account Not Linked
- Problem: Your QR code won't work if no bank account is linked.
- Solution: Link a bank account via Profile > UPI & Payment Settings > Add Bank Account.
2. UPI ID Inactive
- Problem: Your UPI ID associated with the QR code is inactive.
- Solution: Refresh your UPI ID or create a new one from UPI settings.
Quick Fixes to Try
- Restart the App: Close Paytm completely and reopen it.
- Check Internet: Ensure you have a stable internet connection.
- Clear Cache: Go to Settings > Apps > Paytm > Clear Cache.
- Reinstall App: As a last resort, uninstall and reinstall the Paytm app.
Alternative Payment Methods
If QR scanning still doesn't work:
- Pay via UPI ID: Ask for the recipient's UPI ID and pay using 'To Bank A/c or UPI ID'.
- Pay via Mobile Number: Use 'To Mobile or Contact' if the recipient uses Paytm.
