If you are facing issues or an error message when trying to add money to your Paytm Wallet, please note that the functionality to add fresh funds to the Paytm Wallet is no longer available, in line with regulatory instructions.

Instead of loading the Wallet, the Paytm app now encourages the use of two main alternatives for keeping money readily available or transferring funds:

Alternative 1: Use Paytm UPI Lite (Recommended)

UPI Lite is the direct alternative to the Wallet for low-value, quick payments. It is an on-device wallet that allows for instant, PIN-free transactions.

| Limit Type | Value | | --- | --- | | Per Load Limit | Up to ₹5,000 | | Per Transaction Limit | Up to ₹1,000 | | Cumulative Daily Limit | Up to ₹10,000 |

How to Add Money to UPI Lite:

  • On the Paytm app homepage, find and tap the "UPI Lite: Activate" option.
  • Select the linked bank account and enter the amount you wish to load (up to ₹5,000 at a time).
  • Validate the transaction with your UPI PIN to instantly load the money into your UPI Lite balance.

Alternative 2: Self-Transfer (For Specific Needs)

If you need to consolidate funds for a specific purpose (like paying a bill or a loan) and want to move money between your own accounts:

  • Open the Paytm app and navigate to the "To Bank/Self" section.
  • Tap on "To Self A/C," select your source and destination accounts, and enter the amount.
  • Use your UPI PIN to confirm the transfer. The money will move instantly between your own linked bank accounts.
