As the Paytm Wallet is no longer available for adding fresh funds, the primary alternative for low-value, quick payments on the Paytm app is the UPI Lite account.

UPI Lite is an on-device wallet that facilitates quick, PIN-free transactions of up to ₹1000, streamlining everyday small payments and keeping your main bank statement clutter-free.

Here is how you can set up and add money to your UPI Lite account:

Method 1: Adding Money to Paytm UPI Lite

This is the recommended way to keep money readily available for quick, small-value payments.

  • On the Paytm app homepage, find and tap the "UPI Lite: Activate" option.
  • Select the linked bank account you want to use and enter the amount (up to ₹5,000 at a time, with a daily cumulative usage limit of ₹10,000).
  • Validate the transaction with your UPI PIN to instantly load the money into your UPI Lite balance.

Once loaded, you can use the UPI Lite balance to make payments of up to ₹1,000 per transaction instantly without entering a UPI PIN.

Method 2: Self-Transfer (For Specific Use)

If you need to move money between your own bank accounts for a specific purpose (like consolidating funds or setting aside money), you can use the Self-Transfer feature:

  • Open Paytm app and navigate to the "To Bank/Self" section.
  • Now, select your source and destination bank accounts (both must be linked) and enter the amount.
  • Use your UPI PIN to confirm the transfer, and the amount will move between your accounts instantly.
