Synopsis

The protagonists of the tale are two buddies from the Atreyapuram hamlet named Subbaraju and Krishna Murthy.Both had previously been employed by the same political party. One night, the expectant wife of Subbaraju has labor pains. In an attempt to get her a cab to the hospital, Subbaraju's brother calls. They are unable to take his pregnant wife to the hospital, though, because of the intense rain and flooding. His sibling makes midwifery arrangements. Unfortunately, Subbaraju is devastated to learn that the child is stillborn. After setting the dead child down on a table, he visits his wife, whose health has gotten worse.
