Synopsis

Making its way through the historical alleyways of Lahore and Bombay, the plot of Manto is set amidst India’s freedom struggle. A Nandita Das directorial, this biographical drama brings to life the story of celebrated Indo-Pakistani author Saadat Hasan Manto. National Awardee Nawazuddin Siddiqui appears in the titular role of Manto, portraying the late author’s ideologies and inspirations on screen. The film also gives us a glimpse of the most celebrated stories that had been created by the author.
