Synopsis

In 1948 Summer Olympics, India played and triumphed with the first gold medal in hockey. Set in the premise of true event, Gold is a fictional story of Indian National hockey team’s journey to the victory. Leading from the front is the ever so reliable superstar of Bollywood, Akshay Kumar. With a string of successive blockbusters to his credit, he is in his finest form. He essays the role of the legendary Indian hockey player, Balbir Singh who’d scored two goals in the final match against Britain. But since India was still under the British control at that time, the victory isn’t credited to the nation. Now, he is determined and confident that the current Indian hockey team can bring gold him. He will leave no stone unturned to make that dream come alive. The successful TV actor, Mouni Roy marks her debut with this sports biopic. Helmed by the noted writer-director Reema Kagti, Gold is set to stun the audience with its phenomenal story of grit and passion.
