Channa Mereya is a love story about Kainat, a girl belonging to an affluent family. She falls for her classmate Jagat, a good looking man who hails from a poor background. They start seeing each other secretly, but when their relationship gets revealed they end up facing rebellion from Kainat's brother Balli and father.
