Born in 2006, Jacob Tremblay made his debut in Hollywood at a fragile age of 7 with The Smurfs 2 (2013). He went on to appear in at least one film each year thereafter. He gave a path-breaking performance in the Oscar winner Room (2015) starring as one of the protagonists Jack Newsome. He also won the Critics' Choice Movie Award for Best Young Performer and the Academy of Canadian Cinema and Television Award for Best Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role, and was nominated for the Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Supporting Role for this specific performance.
