Synopsis

This biographical drama chronicles the multifaceted life of P. L. Deshpande, a celebrated writer, cultural icon and India’s first stand-up comedian. Deshpande’s ability to connect with the masses and his inspiration for developing a unique narrative are beautifully highlighted in the film. The movie’s title is inspired by Deshpande’s play of the same name. A Mahesh Manjrekar directorial, this biopic is also the first Marathi film to release in two parts.
