Who started UPI first in India?

The Unified Payments Interface (UPI) was developed by the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) as an instant payment system and protocol. UPI was officially introduced in India on April 11, 2016, to integrate various payment mechanisms and standardize retail payments under the guidance of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI).
