Who is UPI owned by?

Unified Payments Interface (UPI) is owned by the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI). NPCI is the primary body tasked with developing new payment systems in India, formed under the guidance of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI). It aims to integrate all payment mechanisms in the country for retail payments. UPI facilitates inter-bank peer-to-peer and person-to-merchant transactions.
