Who created BHIM UPI?

BHIM (Bharat Interface for Money) was developed by the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI). Launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on December 30, 2016, it was designed to promote digital payments and financial inclusion across the country. The app is built on the Unified Payments Interface (UPI) infrastructure, which was also pioneered by NPCI under the guidance of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) and the Indian Banks Association (IBA). It is named after Dr. B.R. Ambedkar to honor his vision for social and financial equality.
