What is the difference between a UPI ID and a UPI number

A UPI ID (like name@paytm) is a virtual payment address used for transfers. A UPI number, on the other hand, is a mobile number or numeric alias linked to your UPI account. Both identify your account, but UPI IDs are more customizable and unique.
