What is difference between imps and UPI?

Both IMPS (Immediate Payment Service) and UPI (Unified Payments Interface) allow instant money transfer. IMPS usually needs bank account details and IFSC code or MMID. UPI uses a simpler Virtual Payment Address (VPA) linked to your bank account, making it easier to pay using a mobile phone.
