What are the new UPI rules from August 1 2025?

From August 1, 2025, new UPI guidelines will limit how often users can check their account information. Users will be limited to checking their bank balance a maximum of 50 times per day, and viewing or verifying linked bank accounts a maximum of 25 times per day per UPI application. Explicit consent must also be provided each time a linked account is viewed or verified. Transaction limits for UPI, UPI Lite, or UPI Autopay remain unchanged.
