Is net required for UPI lite?

UPI Lite generally requires a network connection (mobile data or internet) to make transactions. However, with UPI Lite X (an enhanced version), offline payments without internet are possible using NFC technology, but both the sender and receiver must have UPI Lite X enabled and come online within 4 days to sync transactions.
