The length of a Unique Transaction Reference (UTR) number varies based on the type of transaction. For UPI transactions, the UTR is a 12-digit alphanumeric code. However, NEFT UTR numbers are 16 digits, and RTGS UTR numbers consist of 22 alphanumeric characters. Therefore, a UTR number is not always 12 digits.
