Is UPI id my phone number?

A UPI ID is an address, typically formatted as "name@bankname" or "mobile@upi," that uniquely identifies you for money transfers on the UPI system. However, a bank-verified identifier called a UPI Number is associated with your UPI ID. This UPI Number can be your phone number or any 8–9 digit numeric ID you choose, allowing you to receive money from users across different payment applications.
