Is there any tax on UPI transaction?

Usually, no extra charges are added for UPI payments between bank accounts. However, if you use a digital wallet (PPI) and the payment is over ₹2,000, the shop (merchant) pays a small fee. Large amounts received as gifts might be taxed as income.
