How to use a UPI app without a SIM?

You cannot use a UPI app without an active SIM card inserted in your device. According to National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) guidelines, SIM binding is a mandatory security feature that links your mobile number to your specific device for authentication.

• The registered SIM must be present in the phone to complete device binding and verification.
• An active SMS plan is required to send the mandatory verification message to bank servers.
• You cannot register, link bank accounts, or perform transactions if the SIM is removed or deactivated.
