If the UPI transaction was wrong or incorrect and confirmed (PIN entered), it cannot be canceled immediately. The best first step is to contact the recipient to request the money back. If that fails, contact your bank immediately with transaction details like the ID, date, and amount to register a complaint. Most failed transactions, however, are automatically reversed within 48 hours (T+1 day) according to RBI guidelines. You can also raise a complaint via your UPI app or escalate the issue to the NPCI.
