To get a UPI payment refund for a failed or cancelled transaction, follow these steps:

• Wait for automatic reversal: Most failed transactions are reversed automatically within T+1 working day for person-to-person transfers and T+5 days for merchant payments.
• Raise a dispute: If the money is not credited back, use the Raise Dispute or Help option within your UPI app.
• Contact your bank: Reach out to your bank with the 12-digit UPI transaction ID.
• Escalate: If unresolved after 30 days, file a complaint with the RBI Ombudsman.
