How is BHIM different from UPI?

BHIM (Bharat Interface for Money) is a mobile payment application developed by NPCI and launched by the Prime Minister of India. It operates on the Unified Payments Interface (UPI) platform. UPI is the underlying technology and infrastructure that enables real-time bank-to-bank transfers. While BHIM is a standalone app with a simplified interface focusing primarily on person-to-person payments, UPI supports a wider range of payment apps and transactions, including merchant and bill payments.
