How does the UPI transaction limit per month affect large payments

The National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) does not impose a fixed monthly limit for UPI transactions. Instead, large payments are primarily restricted by the per-transaction limit, typically ₹1 lakh for standard transfers, and the daily limit of ₹1 lakh. For certain large-value transactions like IPO applications, the per-transaction limit is higher (up to ₹5 lakh). The daily cap effectively limits the overall monthly transaction capacity, though individual banks might enforce their own monthly restrictions.
