How does UPI lite work without internet?

The feature that allows UPI transactions without internet is UPI Lite X, introduced by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI). It uses Near Field Communication (NFC) technology to enable seamless, secure transfers between on-device wallets when both the sender and receiver have the feature enabled. This is ideal for areas with poor or no connectivity, such as underground stations.
