To surrender a duplicate Permanent Account Number (PAN) card, you can use either the online or offline method. Online, visit the NSDL or Protean website, select the 'Changes or Correction in existing PAN Data/Reprint of PAN Card' application, and mention the duplicate PAN you wish to cancel in the form. You must also submit a copy of the PAN card you want to surrender. Alternatively, for the offline process, fill out the 'Request For New PAN Card Or/And Changes Or Correction in PAN Data' form, list the duplicate PAN at item number 11, and submit it along with a letter to your Assessing Officer. Holding more than one PAN is illegal and may result in penalties.
