You can apply for an e-PAN instantly and free of cost through the Income Tax e-Filing portal. This paperless service is available to Indian residents who do not already have a PAN and possess a valid Aadhaar number with a linked mobile number. To apply, visit the portal, click on 'Instant e-PAN', select 'Get New e-PAN', enter your 12-digit Aadhaar number, and verify your identity using the OTP sent to your registered mobile number. The e-PAN is generated electronically and sent to your email. Alternatively, you can apply through the NSDL or UTIITSL portals for a fee.
