Mutual Fund

Can a mutual fund fail?

A mutual fund itself cannot technically "fail" or go bankrupt in the way a company can. This is because a mutual fund is a pooling of investor assets, legally separate from the asset management company that manages it. However, the value of the underlying investments held by the fund can decrease significantly, leading to substantial losses for investors. The fund's net asset value (NAV) fluctuates based on the performance of its holdings.
