when can i apply for driving licence

You can apply for a driving licence in two stages: first a Learner's Licence (LL), then a Permanent Driving Licence.

• For a Learner's Licence, the minimum age is 16 years for gearless motorcycles (up to 50cc) with parental consent, and 18 years for cars and geared motorcycles.
• For transport vehicles, the minimum age is 20 years.
• Once your LL is issued, you can apply for the Permanent Driving Licence after a minimum of 30 days and within 180 days.
