MCWG stands for Motor Cycle with Gear. It is a driving licence category in India issued by the Road Transport Authority (RTO) that legally authorizes the holder to ride two-wheelers equipped with a manual transmission, such as geared motorcycles and scooters. This licence is mandatory for operating geared bikes on public roads and generally applies to vehicles with an engine capacity of 50 cc or higher. A significant benefit is that an MCWG licence also permits the rider to operate two-wheelers without gears (MCWOG).
