To obtain a duplicate driving licence (DL) for a lost, stolen, or damaged original, you can apply either online via the Sarathi Parivahan portal or offline at the issuing Regional Transport Office (RTO). If the DL is lost or stolen, you must first file a First Information Report (FIR) or Non-Cognizable Report (NCR) at a police station. The process involves:
- Visit the Sarathi Parivahan website or your local RTO.
- Fill out the required application form, typically Form LLD or Form 2.
- Submit documents, including identity and address proof, and the FIR/NCR copy (if the DL was lost or stolen).
- Pay the prescribed government fee.
The duplicate DL will then be processed and dispatched to your registered address.
