What to write on cheque for income tax payment

When paying income tax via cheque in India, ensure the following details are correctly filled:

• Payee Name: Make the cheque in favor of Income Tax Department.
• Amount: Write the exact taxable amount clearly in both words and figures.
• Details on the Reverse: On the back of the cheque, mention your Name, Permanent Account Number (PAN), Assessment Year (AY), and Mobile Number.
• Submission: Submit the cheque along with the printed tax payment challan (CRN) at an authorized bank branch. Ensure the date and signature on the cheque are accurate to avoid rejection.
