What is evc enabled bank account

An EVC-enabled bank account is a pre-validated savings or current account linked to your PAN on the Income Tax e-filing portal, used to generate an Electronic Verification Code (EVC). This 10-digit alphanumeric code allows individual taxpayers to:
  • e-Verify Income Tax Returns (ITR) without sending physical documents.
  • Securely log in to the e-filing portal or reset passwords.
  • e-Verify statutory forms, refund reissue requests, and responses to tax notices.
The EVC is sent to the mobile number and email ID registered with the bank, providing a paperless and instant verification method.
