How to get money from cheque

To get money from a cheque in India, you can either encash it for physical currency or deposit it into your bank account. The method depends on the type of cheque:

• For a Bearer or Self cheque, visit the drawer’s bank branch, sign the back, and present a valid ID to receive cash over the counter.
• For an Account Payee or Crossed cheque, fill out a deposit slip at your bank and drop it in the cheque collection box. The funds will be credited to your account after clearing, usually within 2-3 working days.
