How to endorse a cheque

Endorsing a cheque in India is a security procedure required to authorize the bank to process the payment. To endorse a cheque, follow these steps:

• Turn the cheque to the back side.
• Sign your name in the endorsement area exactly as it appears on the front of the cheque.
• For enhanced security, write your bank account number and mobile number below your signature.
• To ensure the funds are only credited to your account, you can write "For Deposit Only" followed by your account number.
