How many days take to clear cheque

In India, local cheques typically take 1 to 2 working days to clear through the Cheque Truncation System (CTS). However, following the Reserve Bank of India’s new Continuous Clearing and Settlement framework effective October 4, 2025, cheques presented between 9 am and 3 pm are often cleared within a few hours on the same day. For outstation cheques, the clearing time generally ranges from 7 to 14 days, though "Speed Clearing" can reduce this to 2 to 3 days for CBS-enabled bank branches.
